Chris Lee, PMHNP-BC

CEO/FOUNDER

Chris Lee is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and the founder of DreamCloud Psychiatry. He completed his graduate studies and training in psychiatry at New York University and holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Southern California and Miami Dade College. He has been recognized as one of Business Elite's 'Top 40 Under 40' and is a contributing writer for The Mighty and Yahoo.

Chris Lee built his career in mental health at several of the nation's top psychiatric facilities, including NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in New York City, Mount Sinai West (formerly St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital), and The Addiction Institute. He has treated patients at Housing Works in New York City, East New York Community Health Center, Transformations in Delray Beach, Summit Detox in Boynton Beach, Ally Psychology in Miami Beach, and Delphi Behavioral in Fort Lauderdale.

In 2016, Chris Lee opened Elevate Psychiatry in Miami's Brickell district. As co-founder and former partner, he sought to modernize traditional in-person office visits by exploring and implementing emerging technologies at the time such as online scheduling, electronic prescribing, and telemedicine.

In 2018, Chris Lee left to launch DreamCloud, a mental health practice focused on delivering care with technology, suitable for younger generations. He felt called-to-action after a string of school shootings and gun violence. 'It occurred to me that the current generation of patients has experienced life-changing events like none before. From 9/11 to Sandy Hook, LGBTQ rights and Black Lives Matter, to the rise and dominance of social media—this generation is the most impactful population to anticipate in mental healthcare.'

‘DreamCloud was built to deliver exceptional mental healthcare, but more importantly, to help patients discover their passions, overcome obstacles, and fulfill their destinies as the healers, teachers, creators, influencers, artists, entrepreneurs, and dreamers of tomorrow.’

In 2018, Chris Lee wrote an article about suicide which was adapted by screenwriter Bryan Huynh for the critically acclaimed independent film 'Tomorrow Never Came (2019).' The film won numerous accolades including ‘Official Selection’ and ‘Best Short Film’ at the Los Angeles International Film Festival, Los Angeles CineFest, and Miami Independent Film Festival.

Chris Lee is an avid traveler and enjoys culturally immersive experiences. He has traveled to cities such as Seoul, Madrid, Berlin, and Phuket, and has lived in various places including Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and Medellín. While quarantined in Colombia for nearly a year during the pandemic, unable to return to the US, he attained fluency in Spanish. Chris currently resides in Miami with his dog, Milo.
